We offer a variaty of activities also during the summer. Come and check our versatile programs from hiking to white water rafting and  fishing trips etc.

Please remember to register for the excursions (at the latest) a day before the departure.
Our office is open Mon-Fri 10.00-15.00 during the summer season.

CANOEING TO THE ESTUARY OF RIVER OUNASJOKI

Join us on a canoe trip to a scenic estuary of River Ounasjoki. With a guidance of our professional guides you will get familiar with the unique Natura2000 area and its nature. On our trip we might see some of the birds and animals which live on the area. We stop on the river shore for a cup of coffee and little snack; you can hear the sounds of the current and enjoy the peace of the nature. Children under 12 years only with parents.

VISIT TO THE REINDEER FARM

You meet our guide on our safari house and we will head to the local Reindeer Farm by car. There you will become familiar with the reindeer and herding of theirs. You will also take a part to Arctic Circle crossing ceremony. Sitting around the open fire you will hear the sound of Magic drum and feel the relaxing rituals made by Lappish shaman. After the ceremony you can feel how you have given away all your hurries and stress.

VISIT TO THE HUSKY FARM

We start our journey from our safari house by car to the Husky musher's home. After 15 minutes car transfer friendly huskies wish you welcome to their home. Musher introduces the life of huskies and wonders of surrounding nature, you have also possibility to hug some lovely puppies. We will also do a speedy husky ride through the beautiful forest and hear interesting stories about these racing dogs and long distance husky races in the extreme circumstances.

MIDNIGHT SUN RIVER RAFTING

Experience the midnight sun in a different way, and join us to river rafting. We paddle along River Raudanjoki and face several rapids with our professional guides. The trip is about 10 kilometres and during the trip we see the Lappish wilderness in midnight sun. The nature is so silent and beautiful. We stop for having a pause, make some coffee and enjoy little snack. This is an experience you’ll never forget!

TRADITIONAL FINNISH SAUNA EXPERIENCE

Finnish sauna is an internationally known concept and a substantial part of Finnish culture. Come and experience the relaxing and authentic sauna evening with Safartica! The remote venue itself is an experience and locates in the middle of a forest with no neighbors in the vicinity. There is no electricity nor the running water in the venue, so we heat the sauna with wood and carry the washing water from the lake. In the meanwhile the sauna heats up we dip our feet in the water and relax on the pier, row the boat and fish in the wilderness lake or just sit by the open fire in total silence under the midnight sun. The sauna experience is followed by the traditional sauna snacks; fried sausages and beverages - and if you catch a fish we can prepare in the fire! Safartica provides towels and lots of talk about sauna culture and local way of life are served.

MIDNIGHT SUN PICNIC

Enjoy the midnight sun light in a peaceful forest around the Rovaniemi Centre. Our guide picks you up from your hotel and gives you a ride near to the highest hills of Rovaniemi. We do a short hike about 2km, up to the hill. Up on the top you will see a beautiful scene of Rovaniemi area. Our guide prepares some snack by an open fire and we will toast for the midnight sun. With a rested mind we head back to the city.

RIVER RAFTING IN THE RIVER RAUDANJOKI

Challenge yourself and your friends to the river rafting trip on River Raudanjoki. You are guided safely by professional guides. We'll be paddling down the river about 10 kilometres, from Lake Vikajärvi to Vaattunki. There are several rapids on our way, classified on level 1-2 (easy).
