A Safartica week is full of wintry activity. How would it feel to discover the world of Arctic wildlife, or would you fancy the unforgettable feeling of speeding across the snow pulled by a team of huskies, reindeer or on snowmobiles - perhaps even as early as tomorrow? The choice is yours.

Please remember to register for the excursions by the day before departure.

IN PURSUIT OF REINDEER WITH SANTA CLAUS

Our journey starts by taking a coach to the Arctic Circle where you will enjoy a delicious lunch at the Santa Claus Village and even have a chance to meet Santa Claus in person! After returning back to the city we hop on our snowmobiles and head towards a local Reindeer Farm. There you will live a day which visitors to Lapland dream of. At the Reindeer Farm, you will be able to receive your international reindeer driver’s licence, cross the Arctic Circle, and spend pleasant moments in a traditional Lappish tepee around an open fire. In addition to the reindeer driver’s licence, you will also be given a Certificate of Crossing the Arctic Circle and plenty of information about the way of life in the North.

SNOWMOBILING IN THE NIGHT

This safari is an atmosphere-rich trip through the beautiful Lappish nature designed to inspire all your senses. We ride our snowmobiles through varying landscapes before stopping for a break by a campfire to enjoy some tasty snacks. The silence of the nature and the warm glow of the fire are sure to relax you. You may be even lucky enough to see the Northern Lights flickering and dancing across the skies!

SAFARI TO THE KINGDOM OF SNOW AND ICE

The Arctic Snow Hotel is located 35 km from the centre of Rovaniemi, at the Arctic Circle and on the shore of a beautiful Lappish lake. During the snowmobile ride to the Snow Hotel, we will ride through silent, magnificent Lappish forests and across some frozen swamps and lakes. Upon arrival to the Snow Hotel you will enjoy a tour around the hotel and will learn about the construction of this icy masterpiece. After the tour you will have a traditional Lappish lunch in a warm Kota tepee. We snowmobile back to the city along the same routes. We hope the journey leaves you with memorable impressions.

SNOWMOBILING ALONG HUSKY TRAILS

Our safari begins with a snowmobile ride through the picturesque Lappish nature before arriving to a local Husky Farm. There you will get a guided tour of the farm and enjoy the thrill of a brisk husky sled ride. Following the ride, you can relax and enjoy some coffee and biscuits in a tepee and hear interesting tales of the life at the Husky Farm.

DEEPER FOREST - TWO HOURS HUSKY SAFARI

Get charmed by the power of huskies… This trail goes deeper to the forest. During the two hours dog sledding we will have a break to relax your arms for holding on the handle bar too tightly. To stay warm we will enjoy hot and sweet berry juice in the forest. After the dog sledding we arrive back to our husky farm and warm up in cosy log cabin having coffee and cakes. Lots of talk about huskies and sled dog races are served.

SNOWMOBILING IN PURSUIT OF REINDEER

During the snowmobile safari to the Reindeer Farm, you will be able to receive your very own international reindeer driver’s license, cross the Arctic Circle, and spend pleasant moments in a traditional Lappish tepee around an open fire. In addition to the reindeer driver’s license, you will take part in a Lappish Ceremony and receive a Certificate of Crossing the Arctic Circle. Plenty of information about the way of life in the North is also provided.

ICE FISHING SAFARI

Will you catch a fish today? On an ice fishing safari you will get a taste of true Lappish life. You drive the snowmobiles to good winter fishing spots, where you will get to try your luck in ice fishing and prepare your own food on the blazing campfire. At the end of this active day, you will return to town by snowmobiles, tired but happy.

SNOWMOBILE ADVENTURE

During the snowmobile adventure, you will have a fantastic opportunity to experience the unique countryside of the North. The frozen River Ounasjoki acts as a snowmobile route made by Mother Nature, where snowy landscapes seem enchanting in the mysterious winter twilight. A hot drink served in the silent wilderness tops off the experience – a great time to take some photographs.

SAFARI INTO THE WILDS

Following your guide’s lead, you drive the snowmobiles through snowy forests to untouched snow. The magnificent silence and mysterious tranquillity of the Lappish forests surround you while you enjoy the spirit of togetherness and the wintry atmosphere. While the hearty packed lunch is being prepared over an open fire, feed your appetite by exploring the surrounding countryside on snowshoes.

SNOWMOBILE SAFARI TO HUSKY & REINDEER FARM

This combination safari takes you first by snowmobiles to a local husky farm. There you will enjoy a short but memorable sled ride with the lovely huskies followed by a break in a Lappish tepee. The farmers will tell you great stories about the life at the Husky farm. After the visit to the Husky Farm our journey continues to a Reindeer Farm where a cozy ride on a reindeer sledge awaits. You will receive your international Reindeer Driver’s license, take part in a Lappish Ceremony in a tepee and hear tales of the life at the Reindeer Farm. Warm Lappish style lunch will be served during the safari.

WALKING IN THE WINTER WONDERLAND

This snowshoe safari is a snowy adventure to Lappish forests. The excursion begins from the Safari house from where you get all needed equipments for the snowshoe excursion. We head to the near forests where you learn many things about the arctic nature and hear stories about the culture and the history of the Lappish people. During the trip we have a break by the open fire, enjoy hot beverages and reindeer toast in the lovely wintry atmosphere.
