General information
Our ready made longer safaris are easier and more demanding excursions
We use our own "demanding levels" in scale 1-3. Scale can change by
influence of weather conditions.
Demanding levels: 1. Normal, 2. demanding 3. extreme.
Lenght of excursions effect for safari and its demanding. Driving distances are between 70 and 200 km/day.
In easier safaris, trails which we use are main- and connecting trails
(official snowmobile trails) between villages and centres. So those are
more used and sometimes fixed trails. Normally safaris are priced so
there drives 1 person / snowmobile. For example there is one,
"THREE-DAY SAFARI" which is priced also for driving 2
persons/snowmobile, because it follows main trails and isn't so
demanding. Accomodations are usually better quality cottages and hotels.
More demanding safaris are more extreme things and there need normal
good physical condition, but no necessary former experience with
snowmobiles. For example on those trails there is more change to try
drive in deep snow, just because, we are perhaps first group on trail
in that winter. Trails are sometimes like narrow paths through forest
but anyway official snowmobile trails. Accomodations are in wilderness
log houses and cottages, in most cases with saunas.
In longest safaris there are one or couple overnight in hotels or good
quality cottages with showers and saunas. Naturally we can arrange
overnight experience in heated tent or in simple wilderness shelter
with open fireplace or traditional lumberjack`s log fire.
During safaris clients carry their personal things and extra clothes
onto snowmobiles burden rack in back bags. Sometimes, depend on group
size and type of safari our guide pull sledge for the gears.
Our guides are trained and get needed experiences and knowledge of
local winter conditions. They have demanded skills for give first aid
help.
We secure safaris with modern technology like mobile phones and GPC devices, but still mostly trust for real paper map.
Before safari start our customers get needed gears for snowmobiling,
briefing for safari plan and destinations, security things and handle
snowmobiles.
We use modern "middleweight" snowmobiles, normally with double seats and space for personal things.
