Groups programs

We offer groups the chance to experience Lapland in a countless number of ways. Due to the central location of Rovaniemi, our guests can easily visit, for instance the fairytale-like Amethyst Mine, the only amethyst mine in Europe, is located in Luosto, or the breathtaking Icebreaker Sampo in the town of Kemi. The biggest experiences are best experienced together.

The group programs are valid for min 8 full paying customers, if not otherwise mentioned. With an additional 250€/safari we are happy to organise these also for smaller (min four persons) groups.

The same child rates apply also to the group programs.
- Children 4-14 years are half price, except in Christmas season 1.12.-10.1. the child price is -25%
- Children under 4 years are free of charge.

IN THE FOOTSTEPS OF THE HUSKIES

Upgrade our regular “Snowmobiling along the husky trails” by taking an hour long husky safari! The adventure begins with a snowmobile safari through the picturesque Lappish nature before arriving to a local Husky Farm. There we get a guided tour in the farm and enjoy the thrill of one hour long husky safari and yes, you can mush the safari! Following the safari, we can relax and enjoy hot drinks, grill sausages and hear interesting tales of the life at the Husky Farm. With huge smile on our faces we return back to the city by snowmobiles.

SnowLand is an igloo shaped restaurant located on the shore of the Kemijoki river. The restaurant is made of snow and ice and decorated with beautiful ice-sculptures. Even the tables and chairs are pieces of ice-sculpting art! This is dinner you are to remember for the rest of your life! You can choose if you want to reach the restaurant by coach or by snowmobiles.

SNOW FUN DAY

Oh how much fun you can have in the snow! At first we take a car transfer to the Snow Fun area where we are divided into smaller teams. It feels like we are child again when we compete in several Snow Fun activities such as tandem skiing, snowshoe walking, lassoing and competitions such as pulling the robe, winter football and many other fun games! The winner team get a medal and diploma during the award ceremony. Hot drinks and snacks are available and the games can vary.

SNOWMOBILE SAFARI FOR KOTA DINNER

When the night falls to the Arctic Circle, we start our snowmobile safari and drive in tranquil nature to a beautiful venue. Kota is a typical Lappish building made of wood and a shape of a tepee. It is totally dark and illuminated with an open fire in the middle of the Kota and there, around the fire we enjoy traditional hearty dinner. After the dinner we take a coach transfer to back to the town.

Today we learn many interesting facts and believes about these arctic animals when we visit both farms. We reach the both farms by driving the snowmobiles along rivers, over the swomps and through snowy forests. In addition that we learn a lot of new things, we also take short husky and reindeer sleigh rides and participate in magical Arctic Circle Crossing Ceremony. At first we visit the reindeer farm, become acquainted with these lovely animals and their herders and then we travel through snowy forest until we hear the Christmas carols of the Village. SAMPO ICE BREAKER CRUISE

After serving for 30 years in demanding Arctic waters, Ice-Breaker Sampo has been given a new, more fascinating task – to give unforgettable experiences for eager winter adventurers! Once on board, we have a presentation of the ship and a guided tour, which takes us e.g. to the massive engine room. A delicious soup lunch is served on board. Before returning to the port, the ship makes a one hour stop to enable us to take a hilarious swim in the frozen sea, comfortably dressed in a warm survival suit – looking like a teletubby! At the end of this unique cruise experience, the ship's Captain presents each client with a certificate.

We take a car transfer to the Arctic Circle and Santa’s Village where we have time to visit the incredible Santa’s Official Post office and the numerous souvenir shops of the village. We enjoy nice three course lunch in one of the restaurants and, of course, meet Santa Claus! Do not forget to mention how well you have behaved this year!

SNOWMOBILING WITH ICE –KARTING

Are you ready for some action? This safari is ideal for competitive people who love motor sport and action! At first there are the snowmobiles, nevertheless not as a completion and secondly, there are the ice-karts! Behind the guide’s lead the snowmobile safari follows the tracks along frozen rivers and silent white nature. At the karting area the playful competition starts with the practise and the qualifying rounds. Then the ice-carting race is ready to begin! In the competition everyone is a winner and receives a diploma, nevertheless the winner will be rewarded a bit more generously… After the snowmobiles are driven back to the snowmobile park, may the post-games start and could be played for example in one of the central pubs.

HUSKY SAFARI 4.5 hours

Forget the rest of the world and fall in to this! If you like dogs, speed and want to feel like a real musher, this is your choice! Three hours in the forest trails, sliding on the runners, pulled by huskies whose instinct is to run. We will have short breaks for taking pictures. You should have some evidence to show back home -remember the camera! We will enjoy the surrounding beautiful nature by sitting around the camp fire and grill sausages. After the dog sledding warm and cosy log cabin is waiting for us to warm up and have coffee and cakes.

CULTURAL PATH

Today we have a broad overview of the Arctic life, the livelihoods and the culture, which is a mixture of north and south, east and west. The culture is Lapp and Finnish, but also Swedish, Norwegian and even Russian. We become acquainted with all of this when we see buildings of famous architect Alvar Aalto, visit the recently renovated art museum Korundi and the museum and science center Arktikum. Beautiful lunch enjoyed during the day.

ARCTIC SNOW HOTEL

Arctic SnowHotel – as the name suggests – is made of snow and ice and yes, even the beds and tables. You sleep in a warm sleeping bag safe from the cold and dark winter night. Frost will not spoil the enchanting peace and quiet of the rooms because the temperature always stays between 0 and −5 ºC, even in extremely cold weather. Upon the arrival you will experience the uniqueness of the hotel when you will enjoy the welcome drink form a glass made of ice! The delicious glow fried salmon dinner is served in cosy wooden teepee, what we call Kota. The hotel provides also a normal sauna as well as a snow sauna with its uniquely humid atmosphere. HUSKY SAFARI 2 hours

Get charmed by the power of huskies and let them take you deeper to the forests! During the two hours dog sledding we will have a break to relax your arms for holding on the handle bar so tightly and enjoy hot drinks to stay warm. After the safari we see the farm and hear lots of stories about the huskies and sled dog races while having coffee and cakes in a wooden Lappish Teepee. The husky safari will take 2 hours as a whole including getting to the sleds and one break in the forest. The length of the trail depends on the weather conditions and the skills of the participants. An average it is 14-17 km. Please notice that there is no possibility to go indoors during the two hours.

ON THE DOG TRAIL WITH SANTA CLAUS

Like every snowmobile safari, also this one starts from the snowmobile park where we get the driving and safety instructions. As qualified snowmobilers, we drive the vehicles to a local husky farm where loud yapping welcomes us. The huskies are eager to take us for a short sleigh ride which gives us the feeling how eager runners they are! We enjoy hot drinks in tepee and hear the life of these friendly dogs and their mushers. After the husky farm we drive back to the city and hop on the coach and take a short drive to Santa’s Village located right at the Arctic Circle. We enjoy lunch and because we are by coach, it is a good opportunity to do souvenir shopping here in the numerous souvenir and handicraft shops – and of course visit the Santa Claus himself.

VISIT OF THE AMETHYST MINE

Lampivaara fell in the Pyhä-Luosto National Park is located 1, 5 hours north from Rovaniemi. The coach transfer to Luosto itself is an adventure and we see little Lappish villages. After arriving to Luosto, we take Amethyst Pendolino through the snowy forest. The Amethyst Pendolino is a warm and comfortable snow-track wagon with scenic windows. In a cosy warm cabin on top of Lampivaara Fell we hear many interesting facts and fascinating stories about the amethyst. The geological history of the area is exceptional. This amethyst mine is the only operative amethyst mine in Europe. There are numerous legends and tales about the amethyst in almost every culture. After the tales are told we take a guided tour to the mine and here every visitor can dig with a small pickaxe and try to find a personal amethyst stone that has been waiting there for 2 billion years. That stone is yours forever! We return to Luosto under the gentle protection of the lucky amethyst and have lunch before heading back to Rovaniemi.

VISIT SANTA CLAUS VILLAGE BY SNOWMOBILE

It is said that there are 1001 ways to cross the Arctic Circle and during this safari we do it by snowmobiles. Across frozen rivers and through snow-covered forest we drive our snowmobiles all the way to Santa’s Village, which is located right at the Arctic Circle. As soon as we turn off the motors, we are surrounded by Christmas spirit! The village is a splendid place to send Christmas cards and buy Christmas presents for the next year and of course meet Father Christmas is his private chamber! Delicious lunch will be served in one of the restaurants before we head back to the city.

SKIING TREK

Today you will learn the basics of cross country skiing and in order to do in Safartica style; we play some funny games with the ski’s. During the skiing trek we enjoy hot beverages and little snacks in the beautiful winter forest. Skiing distance is 3-6 km, according to abilities of the participant.

IN THE REINDEER FOOTSTEPS

Upgrade our regular “Snowmobiling in pursuit of reindeer” safari with 1 hour long reindeer safari! The reindeer has traditionally been an essential part of the Sámi way of life and is one of the most oldest livelihoods in Lapland. Reindeer are semi-wild and the training to pull a sleigh can take years. Today we learn a lot from reindeer and the life at the farm and experience the ancient way of travelling in Lapland during the 1 hour long reindeer safari. We reach the reindeer farm by snowmobiles and in addition we take part in magical Arctic Circle Crossing ceremony and have delicious lunch at the farm.

SNOWMOBILING AND RALLY DRIVING TEST

Probably you know Jari-Matti Latvala and Ari Vatanen, the famous Finnish rally drivers? Today you have a glimpse of their lives! The motor sport day starts when we drive the snowmobiles to the rally driving test area where the speed of a real rally car. At we first drive through a special stage and then move to the co-driver seat of a skilled rally driver to compare your speed with his performance. Later on we return back to the city by snowmobiles.
