USING THE APARTMENT:

HEATING:

The chalets are heated with electricity. There is also floor heating and fire place in the chalet.

FLOOR HEATING:

There is light in the remote panel when the floor heating is on.
You can adjust the heating by turning the knob.

FIREPLACE AND FIREWOOD:

The fireplace does not have a separate chimney shut-off plate, so it can be used straight away. Open the fireplace by pulling the handle at the bottom edge. (see picture 1) The fireplace stores heat quickly and should be taken into consideration when using the fireplace for extended periods.

1. Place a small amount of wood in the fire and light up.
2. Once the wood burns well, add more wood, but try to avoid the wood touching the glass door. Keep the fireplace door closed when the fire is on. You can adjust the air intake for the fire from the bottom edge of the fireplace. (see picture 2)

FOR FIRE SAFETY REASONS do not place anything on top of the fireplace! Do not remove the ashes, our staff will clean the fireplace after you check out.

Firewood can be found from the storeroom located next to the entrance.

BATHROOM

HOT WATER

The cabin has a hot water boiler in the hallway with a capacity of 290 liters. When the hot water is soon running out it will automatically start heating it up again. Please note it will take several hours to get more hot water if the boiler gets completely empty.

SHOWER

1. Turn on the tap.
2. Turn the shower on by pulling the button down.
3. Adjust the temperature.

SAUNA

Instructions can be found from the hook on the bathroom wall.

WASHING MACHINE

1. Check the water tap is in the ON position.
2. Select the program of your choice.
3. Please use a washing ball, when adding the washing liquid to the washing machine.

KITCHEN

DISHWASHER

1. Check the power is on.
2. Add detergent.
3. Select the program.
4. Turn the dishwasher switch under the kitchen tap to ON position

MICROWAVE OVEN, REFRIGERATOR, TOASTER, WATER BOILER, COFFE MAKER AND OVEN.

The instruction manuals for all machinery and devices can be found from the kitchen closet. To be certain that everything works perfectly, make sure the kitchen light switch is turned ON.

GOOD TO KNOW

WIFI

The WIFI is free of charge and the connection is open. There is no password needed.

  First aid services are provided by the Lapland Central Hospital at Ounasrinteentie 22 daily 8 a.m. – 10 p.m. Tel. + 358 16 328 2140. We recommend you call the first aid clinic before visiting. The first aid clinic treats persons who need immediate care.

NOTIFICATIONS:

Smoking inside the cabin is strictly forbidden! There is an ashtray on the terrace of the cabin. If you smoke inside the cabin, a cleaning charge of min. 500 € will be charged from you. Silence hours: 22.00 – 07.00. Parties and noise are strictly forbidden during silence hours.

SAFETY FACILITIES:

Make yourself familiar with the accommodation. Each accommodation is fitted with a fire alarm which reacts to smoke and sets off the alarm. A fire extinguisher (foam) is on the wall by the front door and fire blanket in the kitchen. The upstairs bedroom window acts as an emergency exit. Emergency instructions can be found at the entrance.

WHAT TO DO IN CASE OF A FIRE:

1. Rescue those in danger and warn others.
2. Call the emergency number 112.
3. Tell what has happened.
4. Give the precise address and cabin number. (Hiihtomajantie, 8)
5. Answer all questions clearly and follow the instructions you are given. Do not hang up the phone until you are told to do so. If the fire is small, try to put it out yourself. Take people to a safe area.
6. If there is smoke inside, it is safer to crawl, as fire gases rise. If possible, close all doors and windows when exiting to stop the fire from spreading. Direct the rescue workers to the scene.
