1st Hiking Day: Hetta- Ketomella 28,5 km

Remember to eat generously in the morning as today is the longest hiking day towards the silence of the fells. We start the hike with a bus transfer from Ylläs to Hetta lake shores. To cross over to the start of the hiking trail we take a boat transfer over the lake Ounasjärvi. After checking our gear and preparations we start the first day hiking route in culturally historical areas of Tappuri and its beautiful sceneries. In the evening we arrive in small village Ketomella at Kosti’s house. Sleeping in shared cabin accommodation with dinner and a nice “löyly” in the sauna. The master of the house, Kosti, might join us at the end of the evening by the fire place in Kota hut.

2nd Hiking Day: Ketomella – Vuontisjärvi 27 km

After home made breakfast we will continue our journey to the national park area, where many of the southern and northern areas meet. The difference can be seen in the nature in a different kind of diversity. Lunch break is held at Hannukuru but as the day is long we also stop for rest in Suaskuru with breathtaking sceneries. The accommodation of tonight is down by lake Vuontisjärvi small wilderness hotel in twin rooms or shared cabins. Evening program includes hotel buffet dinner and sauna and swim in the crystal clear, cold, fell lake Vuontisjärvi.

3rd Hiking Day: Vuontisjärvi – Pallas 18 km

Last day hiking route sceneries open up hundreds of kilometers away while we travel along the fell line. We will have our camp lunch in Nammalakuru or Rihmakuru, where we will travel through the winding reindeer path between the fell lines. Our last leg ends at legendary hotel Pallas where transport awaits. There is still time for a visit in local national park nature center before drive to Ylläs.
